Hi Everyone

Today during the class you are going to create your CV in English and a covering letter for a job you are applying for. You have one week to complete this assignment. Once you have finished, please email me both documents. The job you are applying for is:

The positions are for 8 weeks and involve giving classes to children between the ages of 5 to 12 in English summer camps. These camps are all over the country and your accommodation is provided as well as a salary of $100.000 per week.

Write a job application letter explaining why you would be suitable and what previous experience you have. You can choose the location where you would like to teach from Punta Arenas to Arica, so please state where you would like to teach. You must also specify what age group you prefer to teach.

Write between 120 – 150 words.

Start with: Dear Sir/Madam

Hello everyone

First of all make sure that your blog is functioning properly and you have followed all your classmates (see last weeks post for the url addresses). I haven't been able to view some of your blogs.

Then go to:

and complete the grammar and vocabulary exercises for unit 01. Click on grammar and select unit 01 and then once you've finished do the same for vocabulary.

___________________________________________________________________

After that are some exercises to practice prepositions. Click on this page:

read through the rules and then do the exercises right at the bottom, starting with George Washington. These four exercises with 4 yellow circles are all Upper Intermediate level. If you feel you need some more practice do the Intermediate (3yellow circles) activities too.

Next are some listening exercises on this website:

You don't have a printed copy of the worksheet, so don't worry about completing your scores on the main page. Simply click on the activities 1 - 7, then click on the web link and complete the listenings.
___________________________________________________________________
Finally there is an FCE style reading text to do. Read the text and choose from the four words given below.

If you complete all this well done!!

St Patrick's Day

A very warm welcome to everybody in Language & Communication in English V.

Top of the morning to you! (a supposedly Irish expression).

Every time we have a lab session please open your blogs and go to my blog for instructions/activities/links.

For today's session we are going to learn about St. Patrick's Day. Cut and paste the link below in a new window. You have a paper copy of the worksheet. You need to read the information on pages 2 & 3 to complete the worksheet.

Now write an article about Chile's National Day and the history, traditions and customs that surround it. Your article must be between 150 - 200 words. Write your article using Word then copy and paste your article onto your blog. Remember to publish your post!

May the luck of the Irish be with you.
